Petko Abadjiev was born in 1913 in Karlovo. He finishes painting in1942 in the class of Professor Nikola Ganushev.

He is a member the Union of Bulgarian artists since 1941 and Managing committee of the Union of Bulgarian artists since 1952.

His first independent exhibition was in1946. From 1946 to 2003 he participated in more than 80 independent and collective exhibitions. He had participations in international exhibitions in Hungary, Germany, Russia, France, Poland, China, Sweden, Greece and Turkey. His pictures are property of The National Art Gallery, Sofia Public Art Gallery, as well as galleries all over the country, the Art Gallery in Karlovo, the private collections in Bulgaria, Europe and the USA.
