The building where the Art Gallery - Museum Philippopolis takes
place, is in Plovdiv - Bulgaria, in the architectural reserve Old
Plovdiv, 29 Saborna str. Carrying the name of its creator, Hadzi
Aleko’s house is one of our common inheritance.
The house is two-storey, elevated on the oak basement and there
are symmetrical facades. The first storey is symmetrical either.
Hadzi Aleko’s house is built with solid walls and in the spirit
of West - European style of neoclassicism. The most representative
part of the house is the second storey, which is asymmetrical. Here
is the largest hall - hajet, with the beautiful oval ceiling, which
is drawn with abundant plant decoration. In the middle of the ceiling
there is a beautiful carved rosette in the shape of a “sun”.
Outside the architecture is revived of the slender wall pier, plastic
window - frames and of the beautiful geometrical ornaments under
them.
