The story behind our private museum

Stefan Maletzov, after a successful career as a musician and an orchestra conductor with degrees from Ecole normale de musique in Paris and Aaron Copland school of music (affiliated with the New York city University) returned to Bulgaria, his home country with a dream: to create in Plovdiv a museum similar to the Henry Frick Collection (http://www.frick.org/). The building of an impressive art collection began and the first step was to restore a mansion, monument of culture of national importance because its architecture and picturesque interiors.  This way the first private Art Center in the country was created.

Only one year later, in 2004 the owners received a prestigious prize by Plovdiv's Mayor for their contribution to the cultural life of the city.
