Danail Dechev

Painter. Lead by his love for the homeland and its people and an expert in old Bulgarian art, Dechev earns the title of one of the most significant representatives of landscape painting in Bulgaria, in spite of his lack of an academic art training. Getting to know the art culture of France and Italy in 1932 plays a major role in the formation of his aesthetic taste. He creates panoramic and urban landscapes, as well as figural compositions amidst natural background. His work was recognized with numerous Bulgarian and international awards.
